One of the most life-changing challenges can be cutting a major food group from your diet. Likewise, it can feel impossible to live without PDFs, a staple of our digital document pantry. In this “test kitchen” session, we examine why PDFs often fail WCAG 2.1 AA standards and how overreliance on them undermines accessibility, explore practical alternatives to PDFs, and review some areas where PDFs are still needed or don't yet have an alternative format.

Topic: Prepare your website for summer reading!

It's that time again! Time to get your website ready to promote your summer reading adventures. We'll review several methods for promoting summer reading and other activities on your website and particularly focus on any accessibility hurdles that need to be addressed. 

The Website Accessibility Learning Group meets on the third Tuesday of the month, 11 AM - 12 PM.

This group will focus on learning about and determining specific steps LEANWI website library staff need to take to come into compliance with the new Title II (public entities) ADA requirements for accessibility of websites and mobile devices (https://www.ada.gov/resources/small-entity-compliance-guide/).
